My Idea of Love

I had read a status message put by one of my friends

“Once in your life time you find a person who loves you from the bottom of the heart and if you are stupid enough to miss that opportunity you will miss it forever.”

Hence out of curiosity wanted to find what Wikipedia has to say about Love. According to Wikipedia, Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. There are various contexts in which Wikipedia describes and defines the subject.

Then the big question was what does it mean to me? Honestly it’s really hard to describe what it means; I had never really given a thought to it.

In my opinion it is an indescribable, unexplainable deep euphoric feeling for someone. It’s an unconditional affection you have for that person. 

Though it’s difficult to describe, some of the symptoms of being in love are

• It's when he/she is the last thing you think about before you go to sleep and the first thing you think of when you wake up.
• When you think about your future you see its with him/her
• When there is a sense of complete trust, where you share every little thought and feelings knowing that it would be safe in his/her hands.
• Without them you have a big empty feeling and you long for his/her presence.
• When you accept the person entirely and completely.
• Knowing that nothing else matters more than him/her.
• When you get lost in conversations and hours pass like minutes.
• When you just stay on the phone even if its silent at the other end.
• When he finds you beautiful even when you know you aren’t looking that beautiful.
• When he/she remembers things that you forgot about yourself.
• When he/she reminds you of these things.
• When he sends you flowers
• When all the stupid love songs seem so meaningful.
• When you stand by him/her no matter what happens.
• When being able to say something stupid and not worry about it and to be just yourself.
• When the look in his/her eyes is warm, open, accepting and understanding.
• Its that feeling when we don't have it; we search for it; when we discover it; we don't know what to do with it; when we have it; we fear losing it.
• When all you want in life is to see him/her happy.

 This is my idea of love... people who are already in love know better.

Good people in my life.

This post is written to acknowledge all the good people in my life who have been with me and care a lot about me. It is a human tendency to complain about the not so bright part of your life and keep cribbing about it. But each one of us has something in life which we should be happy about. I am living a blessed life full of so many good people who care and love me.

The most important are my family. My mother who will come up with an instruction set for me right from cooking to shopping. She is a complete disciplinarian. Be it her anger or the selfless care, its all for my benefit. Then my father who is cool, understanding and always supportive in everything. My two younger sisters with whom I have spend a few years of my life fighting on trivial issues (they seem trivial now). Be it about watching a television channel or reading a book, we have fought on almost all things. But  the bottom line remains that they do care.

My close friends with whom I have spent my college days helping each other with assignments, studies during exams. They know my absentmindedness when it it comes to using a cell phone. Most of the times I am unaware that the phone is ringing (as its always on vibrator) and end up missing all calls. They know I am never on time when we decide to meet up :-) . They are the ones who just call up once a while to know what I am upto.

I must not forget to mention about my pet cat in this post. I know she isn't a human being but does show human traits. By human traits here, I mean she is extremely moody. Sometimes she would respond when you call her by her name but otherwise would act deaf no matter how many times you call. When I talk to her she either walks away, yawns or gives me a blank look wondering if I make any sense to her. At other times she would do 'meow  meow' non stop for couple of minutes throwing long sentences at me which I fail to understand.

Well this post doesn't end here as I am looking forward to make new relations and I am sure I would be meeting a lot more good people.

Today I watched the interview of Sindhu tai Sapkal telecasted on IBN Lokmat

SindhuTai Sapkal, a brave woman who fought back inspite of all adversities and now has a numerous awards to her credit.She runs four ashrams for the basic rights of the underprivileged children which includes education.

It is difficult to believe that this woman once contemplated suicide when she was unable to feed her daughter. She used to make a living by begging in the train after she was disowned by her husband and family.
